Our Estate Grown Petit Verdot ("peh-tee ver-doe") originates in the Bordeaux region of France but also grows well in warm climate, loamy soils of California and Australia. More commonly used in red blends to add deep, rich color and tannins, we have decided to create this stand alone varietal.
This small berry, thick skinned grape makes a full bodied wine with unique floral flavors to include lilac and sage with the smoothness of vanilla and hazelnut.
Roasted duck, with roasted beets, served beside California grown wild rice salad with shitake mushrooms.
