This summer we entered in a few different wine competitions. The North of the Gate Wine Competition received over 300 wine entries. Grindstone’s newest release, our Rose, received a double gold with 94 points, as well as a Best of Class award. We couldn’t be more excited! Our 2013 cortina Red also received a gold with 91 points at the same competition. Grindstone is a boutique winery, making smaller case amounts compared to larger wineries, however we love entering our wines in different competitions to see where we land among the many California wineries. We are so excited about how well our wines have placed in these summer competitions.

Some other awards we have received this summer:

2018 Critics Challenge

  • 2014 Cortina Red Gold 93 pts *coming soon, not yet released!*
  • 2013 Cortina Red Silver

Monterey International Wine Competition

  • 2014 Cabernet Gold 90 pts

Grindstone was also written about in the Piedmont Post- after receiving double gold

  • 2017 Grindstone Rose of Syrah

“I had never heard of Arbuckle, California, but that’s where this lovely rose comes from. As is common in the south of France, this is made from Syrah. It sports a delicate light pink color and aoral nose of wild owers. In the mouth it is packed with nectarine and peach fruit yet it nishes totally dry and refreshing. The perfect aperitif.” – Pierre DuMont
